On October 24, 2022, Judge Sasser held a hearing to determine if Mr. Greene should be permanently removed from office. Before the District Attorney had the chance to present the evidence against Mr. Greene, his attorney Michael Mills announced that Mr. Greene would be voluntarily resigning from office.
